Community Involvement
Linux User Groups
We take an active part in the local Linux community, and are active
and supportive members of the South Birmingham and Wolverhampton Linux
User Groups ( www.sb.lug.org.uk and wolveslug.org.uk ). We have given talks on Python, Linux administration, free training days, and have hosted a Linux InstallFest.
More recently, we have been involved with the Infopoint project which aims to raise awareness of Linux to the general public (see the Infopoint Website).
ACCU
In the wider world, we are members of the Association of C and C++ Users ( www.accu.org ), attending and contributing to their annual conferences.
UKUUG
As corporate members of the UK Unix Users Group ( www.ukuug.org ), we were a main sponsor of the 2003 event, giving talks and tutorials including Python for Programmers, "Core Business Applications for GNU/Linux" and "The Government Gateway and Linux".
Python Business Forum
We are an original member of the Python Business Forum ( www.python-in-business.org ). This is an international grouping of Python business software developers.
EuroPython
We have taken an active role in the EuroPython community for several years, contributing talks and training at several of the annual conferences. See for www.europython.org details.
And in the UK we were instrumental in helping set up the PyCon UK Society which held the very well received first UK Python Conference in September 2007. This will be an annual event and the Society is also interested in organising other related events.Armstrong Siddeley Owners Car Club
We have an active role in the Armstrong Siddeley Owners Club, having provided technical assistance for the ASOC website. Our CEO John Pinner is an ASOC member the proud owner of several Armstrong Siddeley cars, including a rather nice Hurricane.
